Frances Kay Hunt was born on January 9th, 1947 in Cleveland County, N.C. to the late Thomas J. Hunt and Mabel Hicks Hunt.

Frances graduated from Camp High School in Shelby, N.C. after which she relocated to Rhode Island and enjoyed many years working as a Head Start teacher, and time spent at Uniroyal and Old Stone Bank, before her retirement from the Math Department of Brown University. Post-retirement she worked close to 10 years at the Urban League Women's Shelter.

Everyone knew Frances was a good cook and she was frequently asked to make food for family and friend gatherings, especially her 'potato salad'. She loved to dance, was an avid reader, known to read 2 to 3 books in a day and she loved to watch old cowboy stories on TV. But what she absolutely loved was playing BINGO! She would travel far and wide on her bingo trips but she was just as happy to play with friends at the St. Martin De Porres Center. Nobody "waited" like she did!

Throughout her life, Frances was known to tell the funniest stories. She was smart, sassy, and would tell you straight how it is. She was the kind of person that always brought laughs and love into a room.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Gwendolyn Hunt London and brother Jocephis "J.C." Hunt. She is survived by one brother, Thomas Hunt; two sisters, Florence Hunt and Debra Hunt Ross; one daughter, Donetta Barros; two sons, Rilwan "Kolly" Feyisitan and Dangelo Hunt; and a host of family and friends.

In addition to her children, Frances leaves to cherish her memory five grandchildren: Jazandra Barros, Jospeh Grant, Jeziah Manuel Jones, Asohnti Grant, and Cyniah Skye Hunt.
